About Us
Meet Dr. Kendrick Johnson
Dr. Kendrick Johnson is the founder of Frontier Educational Consulting and a nationally recognized educator, speaker, author, and consultant. He began his career as an ELA teacher in Chicago, where he developed a passion for instructional excellence and equity. Over the years, Dr. Johnson has served in multiple roles across the K–12 spectrum—including instructional coach, director of curriculum and instruction, and school-level administrator—spanning elementary, middle, and high school settings.
He later expanded his impact by working with teacher residency programs, helping prepare the next generation of educators through innovative, practice-based models. Dr. Johnson’s areas of expertise include student engagement, restorative classroom management, critical thinking and complex reasoning, Fail-Forward Culture, data-driven instruction, aligned and coherent assessment systems, and culturally relevant and responsive teaching practices.
In his current role, Dr. Johnson partners with districts, schools, and educator preparation programs to provide research-based professional development and high-impact consulting services. His mission is to equip leaders, coaches, and teachers with the tools they need to build and sustain thriving cultures of teaching, learning, and growth.
Academic Background
Dr. Kendrick Johnson began his academic career at Morehouse College in Atlanta, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Linguistics in 2006. He later completed an MBA with a concentration in Organizational Psychology and Development, deepening his expertise in leadership, human behavior, and organizational systems.
Dr. Johnson went on to earn a Master of Arts in Teaching from National Louis University in Chicago in 2008, further grounding his work in instructional practice and educator development. Most recently, he earned his PhD in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University in 2021.
This interdisciplinary academic foundation—spanning literature, business, psychology, and education—shapes Dr. Johnson’s innovative approach to teacher development, educational leadership, and systems-level consulting.
